KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has announced plans to revamp the infrastructure facilities such as lifts at the Selayang Hospital in Selangor.
The Health Minister paid a surprise visit to the hospital on Monday (Jan 22) and highlighted issues such as the malfunctioning Total Hospital Information System (THIS), which has caused all procedures to be carried out manually.
“Today I was able to witness for myself and identify the critical needs… there are some very important matters that I will be raising in the Cabinet meeting and I want it to be carried out immediately,” he said in a Facebook post.
He also stated, “Among problems I had observed was the Total Hospital Information System that has not been functioning for a long time and due to that everything is done manually.”
“We will solve the digital system’s issues immediately by procuring equipment and ease the congestion problem in the hospital, including upgrading the lifts,” he added.
Dr Dzulkefly said the strategic plan was to enhance the infrastructure and human resources for the Selayang Hospital to ensure efficient and effective health services.
According to the statement, Dr Dzulkefly had also observed the daily operations of several important departments of the hospital throughout his visit.
