Anthony Loke has stated that he will not take legal action against Dr Siti Mastura Mohamad for alleging that he is related to Lim Guan Eng, as he does not view her statement negatively,” the DAP secretary-general said. Additionally, Loke disclosed that he relayed his decision to Guan Eng, emphasizing that he does not see Siti Mastura’s statement as defamatory. “She said that I am Guan Eng’s cousin, which carries no negative connotation,” Loke stated during the DAP state convention 2023 held at Komtar on Sunday (Nov 19).
However, Loke mentioned that Guan Eng will be taking legal action against Siti Mastura as she claimed that he and his father Lim Kit Siang were related to former Communist Party of Malaya leader Chin Peng. “Their case differs as she claimed they are related to a communist,” Loke explained.
Siti Mastura was recently summoned by the police to provide her statement regarding her claims about Guan Eng’s family ties with the late Chin Peng. Her lawyer, Ahmad Amzar Ahmad Azlan, stated that the police posed about 10 questions to her during the questioning.
During a campaign speech, Siti Mastura linked Guan Eng and his wife to other DAP leaders, including Loke, Teresa Kok, Nga Kor Ming, and Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham. She also alleged that DAP supremo Kit Siang was a cousin of former Singapore prime minister, the late Lee Kuan Yew.
