A series of raids were conducted by graft investigators to probe allegations of misappropriation of funds within Aman Palestin Berhad, leading to the seizure of four gold bars among other items.
According to sources, the gold bars confiscated weighed a kilogram each and were of Grade 999.9.
The raids, carried out on Nov 24, targeted five locations including Aman Palestin’s office and resulted in the confiscation of three laptops and four handphones.
Sources added that investigators had begun summoning individuals for their statements to be recorded as part of the ongoing probe.
The Star is seeking comments from Aman Palestin regarding the recent events.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed the multiple raids, stating that a total of 11 individuals had been summoned for questioning in connection with the case.
“We are making good progress in this case,” he said without providing further details.
Prior to the raids, the MACC had announced the freezing of over RM25 million in 42 bank accounts under Aman Palestin on Nov 23, following an investigation into allegations of the organization misusing public donations.
