PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong expressed his gratitude to the party leaders and comrades who came out in full force to campaign for Barisan Nasional candidate Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah during the final stretch of the Mahkota by-election campaign.

He was moved by the tireless dedication and unwavering effort displayed by the entire team.

“With less than 24 hours remaining before the polling begins, the MCA machinery was fully mobilised, working round the clock to garner as many votes as possible to ensure Syed Hussien’s victory in the by-election,” he said in a Facebook post on Friday (Sept 27).

Dr Wee also urged Mahkota voters to make their voices heard by heading to the polls early and casting their votes for Syed Hussien.

“Dear Mahkota constituents, be sure to come out early to vote for candidate No. 1, Syed Hussien of Barisan Nasional!

“Syed Hussien is the best choice to become the Mahkota assemblyman,” he said.

Dr Wee also extended his well-wishes to all voters from near and far, hoping that their voting process would be smooth on Saturday.

He called on all voters to come out in large numbers to fulfil their responsibilities.

The Mahkota by-election, with polling scheduled for tomorrow (Sept 28), is a straight contest between Barisan candidate Syed Hussien and Mohamad Haizan Jaafar of Perikatan Nasional.

The by-election is taking place following the death of the incumbent assemblyman, Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain, aged 63, on Aug 2.

The Mahkota state constituency, which falls under the Kluang parliamentary area, has a total of 66,318 registered voters, with 20 polling centres set to open.‏‏
