A man in Kluang has been taken into custody by the police for allegedly killing his sibling during a heated argument. Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh reported that the suspect, aged 44, was apprehended around 2.30pm on Friday (Nov 17).
According to Mohd Noh, the suspect and his brother were engaged in a dispute which eventually turned into a physical altercation. “In a fit of rage, he slashed his brother with a sickle, causing fatal injuries,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Nov 18). Mohd Noh also mentioned that the suspect was sober at the time of the incident.
“The suspect was tested negative for drugs and has no prior criminal record,” he stated, adding that the case is being examined under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. The suspect has been remanded for a period of six days for further investigation.
