A 21-year-old man has been apprehended by authorities in Ampang for allegedly breaking into an office in Ukay Perdana and making off with cash and goods amounting to approximately RM4,150.
The incident came to light when the victim, a local businessman, discovered the break-in at his office on Sunday evening at around 6:09pm, according to Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail.
Upon investigating the scene, Asst Comm Mohd Azam stated, “There were clear signs of forced entry on the office’s door. The thief managed to escape with cash and two pairs of jeans, resulting in losses estimated at around RM4,150.”
Investigators were able to identify the suspect through CCTV footage, as shared by ACP Mohd Azam. The culprit was recognized by the victim as a former employee.
The suspect was subsequently apprehended on Monday night at around 11:30pm in Ukay Perdana with the assistance of law enforcement. ACP Mohd Azam mentioned, “The apprehended individual had a prior criminal record. In addition, we were able to seize a bag and several stolen articles of clothing.”
