A man in Kuala Lumpur was assaulted by a group of individuals after reportedly having an affair with one of the attackers’ wives. The incident took place at a restaurant in Ampang on Jan 22, according to Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail.
The victim suffered a bloody nose and was then taken to a nearby shed where he was further beaten until he lost consciousness. He is currently receiving treatment at Selayang Hospital and remains in critical condition, as per Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail.
The attack was brought to the attention of the authorities when a police report was filed by the victim’s friend. In response, the police made a series of arrests on Jan 26 and Jan 27, resulting in the apprehension of three women and two men, aged 22 to 32. All five suspects have been remanded until Feb 2.
It was disclosed by Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail that one of the women in custody is the wife of one of the male suspects, and all five individuals are known to each other. Additionally, the detained women were present during the attack and recorded the incident.
Furthermore, one of the male suspects has a criminal record with nine prior offenses and is currently a wanted individual. As a result, two additional suspects are still at large, as reported by Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail.
