Man drowns after falling off houseboat near Gerik

lPOH: A tragic incident occurred at Tasik Temenggor near Gerik on Tuesday (Jan 24) when a man was discovered drowned after falling off a houseboat. Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, assistant director (operations) of the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, confirmed that Muhamad Zulfaqar Zulkarnaen, 33, was found drowned at 11.25pm. It was reported that the victim, who was the son of a firefighter in Gerik, fell from a small boathouse while attempting to tie the anchor rope.

Thirty-one individuals, including firefighters, police, General Operations Force, Malaysian Volunteer Department, and members of the public, participated in the search operation. Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad expressed his gratitude for their efforts and involvement in the operation.
