IPOH: A 64-year-old man has been found dead at the entrance of a hypermarket in Klebang, near Ipoh.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the district police headquarters received information from the public at about 6.13pm on Friday (Oct 25) that the victim was unconscious.
Initial investigations revealed the local man was found lying down with no injuries on his body.
The body was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital’s forensic department on Saturday (Oct 26) at about 10am for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
On Friday, the police arrested a 24-year-old local woman to assist with investigations, and she has been remanded for seven days.
The woman from Sabah has no prior criminal record.
ACP Abang Zainal Abidin stated further investigations will be conducted to identify the cause of the incident and to trace other suspects involved.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
