JOHOR BARU: A 39-year-old man was killed after he crashed his motorcycle into the back of a lorry at KM 42.2 of the Senai-Desaru Expressway, here.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident occurred at 2.15pm on Saturday (Oct 26).

“The lorry, driven by a 55-year-old local man, had reportedly come to a stop on the left shoulder of the road due to a jammed accelerator pedal.

“Moments after the vehicle halted, a loud crash was heard from the rear of the lorry.

Upon inspection, the lorry driver found that a motorcycle travelling in the same direction had collided with the right rear section of his vehicle,” he said in a statement here on Sunday (Oct 27).

The motorcyclist sustained severe facial injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics.

The incident is currently under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
