Man suffers burns after generator catches fire in Keningau

A man, aged 57, sustained burns on his face and chest when a generator set he was handling caught fire in Keningau on Tuesday (Aug 29).

According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department, Janamail@Atak Pindah was taken to the hospital by civilians before the firefighters arrived.

The incident was reported at 7.01pm and the generator set was completely burnt, however, civilians managed to put out the fire before the arrival of the rescue team.

The operation was concluded at 7.39pm after ensuring there were no further risks present, as stated by the spokesperson.
