Local lawmaker RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) has highlighted that many workers in companies facing boycott calls due to their alleged links with Israel are Malaysian nationals.
Rayer expressed concern for these workers, including recent graduates and ride-hailing drivers, who have been impacted by the boycott, even losing their jobs as a result.
During a session in Parliament on Tuesday (Nov 14), Datuk Rosol Wahid (PN-Hulu Terengganu) brought attention to the widespread circulation of lists of companies and products targeted for boycott on social media.
Rosol posed the question of the government’s stance on consumer-led boycotts, seeking to understand if the authorities have plans to assist affected workers or if they will be left to face the consequences on their own.
