In Mexico City, researchers presented evidence to Congress on Tuesday confirming the authenticity of a set of three-fingered Peruvian mummies, though they stopped short of declaring them to be extraterrestrial. This comes after Mexican journalist and UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan introduced two specimens at a congressional event on UFOs back in September. Maussan claimed the bodies, allegedly found near Peru’s ancient Nazca lines, were not of earthly origin.

During the recent session, Maussan aimed to prove the bodies were not fake, bringing in a group of doctors who all agreed the bodies were real and once-living organisms. Although none of the scientists could definitively say the remains were extraterrestrial, Maussan believes they could be evidence of non-Earthly life forms.

Anthropologist Roger Zuniga from San Luis Gonzaga National University in Ica Peru, stated that researchers had studied five similar specimens over four years and confirmed their authenticity. Zuniga emphasized that there was no human intervention in the formation of the beings, but he did not know their origin. A letter signed by 11 researchers from the university also confirmed the authenticity of the bodies, without implying they were of extraterrestrial origin.

However, Maussan’s initial presentation was criticized by many experts, who dismissed it as a stunt debunked by the scientific community, pointing to studies that concluded the specimens were modified using animal and human bones. When asked about those studies, Zuniga said the specimens they studied were real, while the others were likely fake.

Congressman Sergio Gutierrez, from President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s ruling Morena party, called for a reform to Mexico’s law to make all information about UFOs public. The session also veered into more extreme theories, with Argentine surgeon Celestino Adolfo Piotto suggesting that the mummies were an evolved version of today’s human beings, and Mexican rapper Claudio Yarto claiming to have seen UFOs personally.

The presentation did not definitively confirm the extraterrestrial origin of the mummies, but it did provide evidence of their authenticity. The debate over the origins and nature of these remains will likely continue, fueling further interest in the possibility of non-human life forms.
