A mother allegedly sent threatening messages to her daughter’s 11-year-old classmate on TikTok following a conflict between the two girls, as reported by Florida authorities.

The 28-year-old woman is now facing a charge of sending a written or electronic threat to kill or harm another person, based on information from a probable cause affidavit.

The mother of a sixth-grade student at a West Palm Beach middle school informed authorities that her daughter and another student had a conflict, which was resolved with the help of school intervention, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

In January, the 11-year-old girl began receiving threatening and profanity-filled messages on TikTok, believed to be from accounts associated with the other student’s parents, deputies said.

The messages from the woman instructed the young girl to stay away from her daughter and repeatedly asked for her home address, as per messages reviewed by investigators.

She also shared her own address with the girl, taunted her, and used derogatory language.

Among the messages were phrases like “Run it we been ready I have a car”, “come outside bb unless ya scary”, “let’s go unless u scared”, and “we fighting”.

The woman identified herself as the classmate’s mother and directed the child to inform her own mother about the situation, authorities said.

Messages allegedly from the father also contained threats towards the 11-year-old, although there are no records of charges against him in jail or court documents.

After blocking the accounts and showing investigators the messages, the girl prompted deputies to seek search warrants for the accounts. TikTok provided account details and messages on March 26, confirming that the parents were the account owners.

The woman was arrested on March 27 and released the following day on a $15,000 bond, according to jail records.

Her arrest aligns with a new law signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, which restricts children under the age of 14 from having social media accounts, a measure expected to face legal challenges.

The woman’s public defender declined to provide comment to McClatchy News. – The Charlotte Observer/Tribune News Service
