(Reuters) – Max Verstappen, who is a double world champion, has secured pole position for the home Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort for the third consecutive year. Verstappen’s achievement puts Red Bull in an advantageous position. Lando Norris from McLaren will join Verstappen on the front row, while George Russell has qualified as the third fastest driver for Mercedes. Alex Albon from Williams impressed with his fourth place qualification. On the other hand, Sergio Perez from Red Bull, who is Verstappen’s teammate and closest competitor in the championship, qualified in seventh position. However, Perez is currently 125 points behind Verstappen after 12 out of 22 races in the season. Verstappen will be aiming for a record-equalling ninth consecutive win in the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday. (Reporting by Alan Baldwin in London, Editing by Hugh Lawson)
