As of Thursday afternoon, the number of flood victims in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, and Sabah has decreased to 26,914 from 28,032 earlier in the day, according to the latest report from the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) National Disaster Command Centre.
The number of active temporary relief centres (PPS) has also dropped to 131 from 137 reported in the morning.
In Kelantan, the number of flood evacuees decreased to 21,252 at noon, down from 21,377 in the morning. The evacuees are housed in 67 PPS across five districts, with Pasir Mas having the highest number at 18,293 people.
Terengganu also saw a drop in the number of victims, with 5,359 people at 53 PPS, down from 6,289 at 59 PPS earlier in the day. The affected districts in Terengganu include Besut, Dungun, Hulu Terengganu, Kemaman, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and Setiu.
The number of evacuees in Johor at four PPS in Mersing and Segamat decreased to 63 at noon from 121 in the morning.
In Pahang, the number of evacuees decreased slightly to 209 at five PPS in four districts, with 87 evacuated to a PPS in Cameron Highlands due to a landslide.
In Sabah, 31 evacuees remain housed at two PPS in Pitas.
Continuous heavy rain is expected to persist in Pahang (Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin) and Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru). – Bernama
