RANTAU: Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin Najib’s statement on a group of “Bossku” supporters switching their allegiance to Perikatan Nasional is clear enough, says Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan says.
He said this when asked to comment on a group of supporters of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak changing to back Perikatan after losing confidence in Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
On Friday (July 28), Mohd Nazifuddin told a news portal that the actions of the splinter group were seen as exploiting the situation for their own benefit
This comes after Pertubuhan Jalinan Perpaduan Negara Malaysia leader Syed Muhammad Imran Syed Abdul Aziz said that as Umno members, the group had lost confidence in the party president and that “Bossku” supporters have thrown their support behind political rival Perikatan Nasional for the state elections.
“His (Najib’s) own son has made a statement and I feel it is enough to explain for all to know the real situation,” said Mohamad.
When asked if this would affect Barisan’s chances in the state elections, he said that it would depend on several variables.
“It depends on the situation and location. But it is not all-encompassing and only involves a few people,” he said.
