According to party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, there are no cartels within Bersatu, so Selat Kelang assemblyman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari should not be making such claims.

Muhyiddin expressed his disbelief by saying, “Don’t look for an excuse after you made a big mistake,” in reference to Abdul Rashid’s public support for Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari on March 6.

He described Abdul Rashid’s accusations against the party as an irresponsible act during a press briefing after submitting Bersatu’s constitution amendments at the Registrar of Societies headquarters in Putrajaya on Monday (March 11).

Muhyiddin emphasized that Bersatu operates in accordance with its party constitution.

He pointed out that since Abdul Rashid was the (Selangor) Bersatu chairman, if there were any cartel activities, it would fall under his responsibility.

A news portal quoted Abdul Rashid alleging that Selangor Bersatu was being influenced by a cartel led by a recent party entrant, although he did not reveal any names. This was one of the reasons he cited for showing support towards Amirudin and the Selangor government.

Despite his declaration of support, Abdul Rashid maintained that he is a loyal and dedicated member of Bersatu.
