KUALA LUMPUR: The chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, has stated that Mara will not tolerate any incidents of bullying among students at the Mara Junior College of Science (MRSM).
Dr Asyraf Wajdi urged parents of MRSM students to report directly to him if their children were bullied or if there were MRSM administrators who attempted to cover up the incident.
“Sorry, Mara will never compromise with any form of bullying at MRSM, far from covering up any fraudulent behavior,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Nov 9).
He continued, “It does not matter if they are children of VIPs or even VVVIPs, you touch you go!”
Dr Asyraf Wajdi expressed concern that if bullying went unchecked, it would hinder efforts to cultivate a new generation that is just and responsible.
He noted that MRSM has a reputation for producing well-rounded generations, emphasizing not only knowledge but also morals and values.
Dr Asyraf Wajdi cautioned that individuals who engage in such bullying behavior may lose the value of respecting subordinates and may oppress without compassion and concern when they lead organizations in the future.
A bullying case at a boarding school in Perak recently gained attention on social media.
On Nov 4, the police confirmed that a case of bullying involving the school’s students had occurred, and the investigation paper had been submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office on Monday (Nov 6). – Bernama
