According to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, North Korea launched multiple cruise missiles off its east coast on Sunday. The specific number of missiles was not disclosed, but South Korea has increased monitoring and vigilance while collaborating with the United States to analyze the recent launch.
Officials in Washington and Seoul have stated that they have not observed any indications that Pyongyang is planning immediate military action, despite North Korea’s growing confrontation with the United States and its allies.
Government officials and analysts believe that Kim Jong Un’s regime will continue to engage in provocative actions, potentially escalating them, following advancements in ballistic missile development, increased cooperation with Russia, and the abandonment of the decades-long goal of peacefully reuniting with South Korea.
