According to a report from KCNA on Tuesday, North Korea’s defence ministry has urged South Korea and the United States to halt their military drills, which they view as rehearsals for war and have warned of potential consequences.
The annual spring exercises, which began on Monday, have seen a doubling of troops compared to the previous year as South Korean and U.S. militaries aim to enhance their abilities to respond to North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats.
An unnamed spokesperson from Pyongyang’s defence ministry has strongly criticized what they describe as “frantic and reckless” military drills, calling for them to be ceased immediately, as reported by KCNA.
