HULU SELANGOR: The magistrate’s court in Kuala Kubu Bharu has scheduled Dec 10 for the submission of chemical and post-mortem reports in the case of Lance Corporal Muhammad Alif Monjani, accused of murdering Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah in July.
Magistrate Nurul Izzah Hasan Basri set the date after Deputy Public Prosecutor Eirene Nabila Amani Williams informed the court that the reports were not yet ready.
“The chemical and post-mortem reports are still not complete, and I request a new mention date for the case,” said Eirene Nabila.
Defence lawyer Nur Aida Md Zainuddin, representing Muhammad Alif, did not object to the request but asked for a longer mention date.
The proceedings on Monday (Oct 7) were also attended by three observing lawyers representing the family of Nur Farah Kartini – Goh Chee Kian, Mohd Norazihan Adnan, and Luqman Hakim Azhar.
Nur Farah Kartini’s mother and several family members were also present during the case proceedings.
On July 26, the police officer, stationed in Perak, was accused of murdering Nur Farah Kartini, a former student of Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI), in the SKC Kledang oil palm plantation in Hulu Bernam between 9am on July 10 and 6pm on July 15.
The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code provides for the death penalty if convicted.
Nur Farah Kartini was reported missing on July 10 before her body was found in an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Keledang, Hulu Bernam, at around 6pm five days later. – Bernama
