KOTA BARU: A bulldozer driver discovered an old mortar shell while digging a hole for a cable at the Rumah Seri Kenangan, an old folks’ home, in Taman Kemumin, Pengkalan Chepa near here on Saturday (Jan 20).
The district police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud stated that the 40-year-old man found the 81mm shell measuring about 40cm long at about 12.30pm on Saturday.
He added that the unexploded ordnance (UXO) was destroyed in a safe area at 4.17pm on Sunday (Jan 21). – Bernama
