On Sunday, a 66-year-old German woman tragically lost her life in southwestern Greece as a cold weather front hit the country.
According to Greek national broadcaster ERT, the victim was walking by the sea in Kyparissia town with her husband when she was swept away by waves.
The couple lived in a nearby village.
Due to the strong winds and heavy rainfall, ferries were unable to dock for hours at several ports over the weekend and material damages were reported in many regions.
ERT also reported that the northern suburbs of Athens were impacted by the strong winds, causing trees to fall and power cuts to occur.
