One man has died and another remains trapped after a landslide at a quarry near Bandar Saujana Putra in Banting. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said they received a distress call about the incident at 4.54pm on Thursday. “We dispatched a fire engine, a rescue vehicle as well as nine personnel to the incident at Spring Energy Tanjung Kuari, Jalan SP 2, Bandar Saujana Putra,” he said.
Upon arrival at the scene, they found that a landslide had occurred and two men were buried at a depth of at least 1.2m. Wan Md Razali added, “Both men have been identified as local men in their 30s.”
Efforts are underway to locate the remaining victim as one of the victims was dug out and sent to the hospital. Unfortunately, the rescued victim succumbed to multiple injuries and passed away at the Putrajaya Hospital.
Wan Md Razali stated that the search for the remaining victim would continue.
