KUALA LUMPUR: An Opposition MP was reprimanded for talking loudly on his handphone while in the August House on Wednesday (Oct 23).

The incident happened soon after Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan (PN-Tasek Gelugor) had just wrapped up his debates on Budget 2025 when Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor took notice of an MP speaking over his handphone.

“Thank you, YB Tasek Gelugor. Meanwhile, MP Hulu Selangor, is it an important call?

“I can hear you from here. Is it your wife calling?

“If you think that it is that important, please take it outside,” Ramli said before asking Ledang MP Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh to begin his debate on the Budget.

The MP concerned was Datuk Rosol Wahid who promptly ended the call.

A total of 27 MPs are slated to participate in today’s debate on the budget at the policy stage in the August Hall.
