Anticipated attendance of over 15,000 visitors from both within and outside of Melaka for the upcoming Melaka state-level Chinese New Year open house at Jonker Walk on Feb 22, according to State Health, Human Resources and Unity Committee Chairman Ngwe Hee Sem.
Ngwe Hee Sem also announced that RM150,000 in the form of food, drinks, and souvenir vouchers will be allocated to the first 10,000 visitors at the open house, which will run from 7pm to midnight. The open house is estimated to cost RM300,000.
“Each visitor can obtain vouchers worth RM15, with a limit of one voucher per person,” he informed reporters at a Chinese New Year open house in Selandar on Saturday (Jan 10).
“This time, the open house will not have a food feast concept. Instead, visitors can use the obtained vouchers to purchase food, drinks, or souvenirs from traders at Jonker Walk.”
He also mentioned that various performances and cultural activities will be showcased to promote Visit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM 2024). – Bernama
