LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) — The Pacific Airshow, one of the largest airshows in the United States, kicked off in Southern California on Friday, featuring demonstrations by military aviators and civilian performers.
The annual airshow hit the skies at Huntington Beach, a seaside city in Orange County in Southern California, on Friday and will run through Sunday.
This year’s performances include the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, known as the “Thunderbirds,” F-22 Raptor Demo Team, A-10 Demo Team’s final performance, the Zapata Flyboard and Air Scooter Demo, Stuntman Jacko Strong and the Horseman Three Ship P-51 Mustang Demo, according to the event organizer.
In its eighth year, the Pacific Airshow is continuing to amp up the action in the air and on the sand by building a world-first temporary landing area on the beach to bring attendees and their families up close and personal with five short takeoff and landing aircrafts at this year’s airshow.
“Pacific Airshow’s social and economic impact on the community is unmatched and every year brings our community together for a family friendly, patriotic celebration complete with world-class aviation displays right on our coastline,” said Gracey Van Der Mark, mayor of Huntington Beach. “We’re thrilled to have Pacific Airshow return to the skies over Huntington Beach this year for Southern California to enjoy.”
