(Reuters) – On Thursday, Pakistan announced that it had “credible evidence” connecting Indian agents to the killings of two Pakistani citizens on Pakistani soil.
Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Qazi told reporters, “These are killings-for-hire cases involving a sophisticated international set-up spread over multiple jurisdictions.”
When reached for comment, India’s foreign ministry did not respond immediately.
Qazi noted that the method of assassination was similar to attempts in Canada and the United States.
Pakistan’s accusations come shortly after both Canada and the United States separately accused Indian agents of being tied to assassination attempts on their own soil.
India has dismissed Ottawa’s accusations and has initiated an investigation into U.S. allegations.
