PESHAWAR, Pakistan (Reuters) – According to a Pakistani government official, over the span of the last two weeks, more than 100,000 Afghan nationals who were undocumented have voluntarily returned to Afghanistan through the Torkham border crossing in northwestern Pakistan.

Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir Khan has stated that these Afghan nationals had journeyed from various parts of Pakistan to reach the border crossing.

Today marks the deadline for Pakistan’s expulsion of all undocumented immigrants, including the hundreds of thousands of Afghan nationals residing there.
