KUALA LUMPUR: Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia Walid Abu Ali has expressed his gratitude for the support shown by Malaysians towards the Palestine cause and in condemning the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.

Walid said the Palestinian struggle will continue despite the atrocities of the Zionist regime.

“We will be stronger, and will continue what we do until we can enjoy and exercise freedom,” he said in his short address during the pro-Palestine rally at the Axiata Arena here in Bukit Jalil on Sunday (Aug 4).

Also present at the gathering were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, dignitaries, and guests.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to arrive soon and deliver a speech to declare support for the Palestinian struggle.

Walid also expressed his thanks for the support by Malaysians and the Prime Minister.

The rally for Palestine liberation dubbed ‘Himpunan Pembebasan Palestin’ is also aimed at sending a strong message to the world that Malaysia condemns the killing of Hamas Political Bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh and the ongoing brutality of the Zionist regime.

On Oct 24 last year, the ‘Malaysia with Palestine’ gathering was held at Axiata Arena, bringing together political leaders from both the Unity Government and the opposition to show solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Over 15,000 Malaysians from various backgrounds, religions, and races attended the assembly.

Prior to that, the ‘Solidarity with Gaza’ assembly was held at the National Mosque on Oct 13, 2023, which also saw political leaders from both the unity government and the opposition coming together to express support for the Palestinian people.
