    Pelangai assemblyman Johari Harun to be laid to rest today

    PETALING JAYA: The remains of Pelangai assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun will be laid to rest at Raudhatul Sakinah Muslim Cemetery in Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur.

    In a post on his official Facebook page on Sunday (Aug 20), it is said that his body had earlier been taken from Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) to Masjid Jamek Ar-Rahimiah in Klang for the first funeral prayers at 9am.

    At 11am, the body will be brought to Masjid Saidini Hamzah in Jalan Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur for the second funeral prayers before being taken to the cemetery.

    “The family of the late Johari would like to express their gratitude to those who had shared their thoughts and prayers,” they said in a Facebook post on his official page.

    The Pahang exco member was among those who perished after the light aircraft he boarded with seven other people crashed near the Elmina Township in Selangor.

    Earlier, Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said all ten victims of the Elmina air crash have been identified and the bodies will be released to the family today.

    He said that all victims were identified through various pathology techniques; by matching fingerprints, DNA and dental records.

    The other victims are pilots Shahrul Kamal Roslan and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim; passengers Kharil Azwan Jamaludin, Shaharul Amir Omar, Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, Muhammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki and Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali.

    The road users killed in the crash are Muhamad Hafiz and Sharipuddin Shaari.

    On Thursday (Aug 17) eight people on board a light aircraft were killed after the plane crashed near Elmina Township in Selangor.

    An e-hailing driver and a food delivery rider on the road were killed when the plane crashed.

    The incident occurred at about 2.40pm after the aircraft, which took off from Langkawi, was cleared to land at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.

    It crashed into Persiaran Elmina after losing communication with the control tower.
