GEORGE TOWN: Penang Deputy Chief Minister II, Jagdeep Singh Deo, confirmed that he has taken leave to treat his ankle and will not return for a few weeks.
“My ankle still hurts, although it has been two years since I fell. Most of you would have noticed I was limping badly,” he said on Monday (July 22).
Jagdeep added that he was in Kuala Lumpur to seek a second opinion regarding his ankle injury.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said he would be issuing an official statement on the matter on Tuesday (July 23)
“Please wait for my statement tomorrow,” he said.
Earlier on Monday, it was reported that a Penang state executive council member had been advised to go on leave to sort out his personal problems, which had allegedly affected his duties.
Sources confirmed that the assemblyman went on leave on Monday and has not been seen at his office since then.
