A car collision in Labuan resulted in the death of a doctor from Perak on Wednesday (Sept 6). The deceased, Harvin Longanathan, 30, from Chemor town, was involved in the incident near Simpang Rangas at approximately 7.50am. According to Labuan police chief Supt Mohd Hamizi Halim, the doctor lost control of his motorcycle while negotiating a road bend on Jalan Bebuloh. As a result, the motorcycle crossed into the opposing lane and collided with a car driven by a 38-year-old woman. Tragically, Harvin Longanathan died on the spot.
Following the fatal accident, the victim’s body was transported to Labuan Nucleus Hospital for an autopsy. The authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, categorizing it as a case of reckless driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
