In Lima, Peru, the constitutional court has reinstated the pardon of former President Alberto Fujimori, announced Francisco Morales, the court’s top judge, on Wednesday.
During an interview with local radio station RPP, Morales stated, “Alberto Fujimori must be released in accordance with the decision of the constitutional court.”
Fujimori, who was previously convicted of human rights abuses and corruption, had received a pardon for his crimes. However, this pardon was revoked last year.
