In 2024, the PGA Tour has announced the 16 members who will serve on the Player Advisory Council, a group that will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the tour. Nine players have agreed to join the PAC, which works to advise and consult with the PGA Tour Policy Board and commissioner Jay Monahan.
One of the important issues that the PGA Tour is currently dealing with is negotiations with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund regarding a potential partnership involving the LIV Golf League and DP World Tour.
Additionally, the PGA Tour has formed a partnership with U.S.-based Strategic Sports Group, which has made a cash investment to support a new for-profit entity known as PGA Tour Enterprises.
The newly appointed members of the council are Lanto Griffin, Nick Hardy, Grayson Murray, Seamus Power, Adam Schenk, Nick Taylor, Josh Teater, Justin Thomas, and Camilo Villegas, who are replacing players who have completed their terms.
Griffin and Murray were among 20 players who sent a letter to the board in December, demanding transparency in all discussions about the tour’s future.
Returning members of the council include Sam Burns, Brian Harman, Max Homa, Mackenzie Hughes, Keith Mitchell, Scottie Scheffler, and Kevin Streelman.
The board has requested Streelman and Villegas to run for chairman of the Player Advisory Council in an election that concludes on Feb. 27. The winner will replace Jordan Spieth on the board on Jan. 1 and will serve a three-year term.
Other players on the PGA Tour Policy Board are Patrick Cantlay, Peter Malnati, Adam Scott, Webb Simpson, and Tiger Woods.
