The PKR logo has been taken down from the website of Liberal International following the party’s request to be removed from its list of observer members, as reported by The Star.
In their investigation, The Star found that Gerakan, another Malaysian party, remains listed in the observer members section of the website.
Fahmi Fadzil, PKR’s information chief, stated on Friday (Nov 3) that he reached out to Liberal International to have the party’s name and logo removed from their platform.
He further clarified that PKR has never been a member of Liberal International and has not made any payments towards membership fees.
Fahmi emphasized that PKR firmly supports the Palestinians and condemns the violent actions taken by Israel against their people.
Liberal International, established in 1947 in Oxford, England, is a global federation comprising liberal political parties.
With a total of 111 parties and organizations, it serves as the leading network for liberal parties seeking to advance liberalism across the globe.
