SEPANG: Muhammad Sharul Izuan, the eldest son of Sharipuddin Shaari, who died in the plane crash on Guthrie Highway near Bandar Elmina in Shah Alam, Selangor, last Thursday (Aug 17), never thought that the two pictures his father had given him would be the last ‘gift’ he would ever get from him.
The 16-year-old said his father gave him the pictures last week when he and his family were on their way to a shopping mall in Sepang.
“As we were heading to the mall to buy books for my sister, my late father handed me two pictures of himself out of the blue. He said, Take and keep them’,” he told Bernama.
In the 2.48pm incident last Thursday, Sharipuddin, who worked as an e-hailing driver, was driving along the highway when the aircraft with six passengers and two flight crew on board plummeted to the ground, hitting the car he was in.
Ten individuals, including Pahang Local Government, Housing, Environment and Green Technology Committee chairman and Pelangai assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun, were killed after the Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1) light business jet flying from Langkawi to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang crashed.
Sharipuddin, 53, who hailed from Arau, Perlis, is survived by his wife, Suriana Muda, 43, and two children, Muhammad Sharul and Nur Izzara Arissya, 9.
Muhammad Sharul Izuan, a Form Four student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, added that he had a brief conversation with his late father before going to school on the morning of the incident.
“On Wednesday (the night before the incident), my father refused to have dinner and only told me to eat,” he said. – Bernama
