Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim paid a visit to Hulu Kinta assemblyman Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad after the death of his father.
Anwar spent approximately 10 minutes with the grieving family before departing.
Also in attendance was Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang, who serves as the Perak PKR chairman.
Meanwhile, Muhamad Arafat revealed that his 76-year-old father had been admitted to the intensive care unit of Fatimah Hospital two weeks prior due to a range of complications including lung infection and hypertension.
“He passed away around 1pm yesterday,” Muhamad Arafat told reporters.
The funeral prayer for his father was held at Masjid Jamek Tanjung Rambutan before being laid to rest at Kampung Bakar Bata Muslim cemetery on Sunday (Jan 28) morning. – Bernama
