ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police have arrested a 27-year-old man and confiscated drugs worth RM12,300 during an operation at Puteri Harbour here.
Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the arrest was made at 5.45pm on Aug 10 by the Iskandar Puteri Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID).
“The man was arrested along with drugs that we believe were going to be distributed in the area. The suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine, and he has prior drug cases in his criminal record,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 13).
During the operation, ACP Kumarasan said that the police confiscated 500 Erimin-5 pills worth RM10,000 and 91.96g heroin worth RM2,300.
He added that the suspect modus operandi is to sell the drugs only to those he recognises and not to the nearby entertainment area.
“The suspect is currently under remand until Aug 16,” he said, adding that the police also confiscated the suspect’s motorcycle worth RM6,000.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act for drug trafficking.
