PETALING JAYA: According to Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Tony Pua has made excessive remarks regarding the recent decision by the Pardons Board on Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Wan Rosdy claims that Pua is seeking attention after failing to gain public support and that the former DAP publicity secretary has been rejected by his own party members.
Wan Rosdy issued a statement on Sunday (Feb 4) urging Pua to apologize and delete his Facebook posts, or face potential legal action. The former Damansara MP had posted three Facebooks expressing disapproval of the jail term and fine reduction given to Najib by the Pardons Board.
In one post, Pua cynically remarked that he would be willing to go to prison in exchange for RM50mil.
Wan Rosdy expressed that all Umno members, including himself, were saddened by the Pardons Board’s decision on Najib as it deeply affected them. He explained that they had expected to see the former Prime Minister receive a full pardon and expressed their respect for the decision, despite it not aligning with their expectations.
