According to North Korea’s state media KCNA, Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his intention to visit Pyongyang in the near future.
During a meeting with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, Putin also conveyed his gratitude for an invitation to visit North Korea. Choe Son Hui had recently visited Russia, as reported by KCNA citing a foreign ministry official.
The report also mentioned that Russia had appreciated North Korea’s support and solidarity in the Ukraine war. Additionally, both countries showed concern over provocative acts by the United States and its allies against Pyongyang’s sovereign rights while agreeing to cooperate in regional affairs.
It was emphasized in the report that the cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow would be in accordance with the U.N. Charter and other international laws.
