Recently, a group of individuals was caught on video causing a disruption to traffic in Negri Sembilan by lighting long strings of firecrackers on the street. The video quickly went viral.
Was the traffic disruption in Negri Sembilan actually caused by firecrackers?

Law enforcement is currently searching for the individuals responsible for lighting the firecrackers on a road in Kuala Sawah, near Negri Sembilan, after a 54-second video of the incident spread like wildfire online.
The local police chief, ACP Arifai Tarawe, confirmed that a report had been filed and that the matter is being investigated under Section 7(a) of the Explosives Act 1957.
He mentioned that the video initially gained traction on Facebook on November 12th, prompting swift action from law enforcement.
“We are actively seeking those responsible for this dangerous act. We appeal to anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist us,” he stated in a press release.
Due to the long strings of firecrackers being swung around and lit on the road, motorists found themselves unable to continue driving and were forced to halt their vehicles.
ACP Arifai also provided contact information for those with information, directing them to get in touch with investigating officer Insp Nur Asma Zafira Mohd Yusop at 013 238 6281 or the district station at 06-6033222.
He also emphasized that those found guilty could face imprisonment for up to seven years, a fine of up to RM10,000, or both.
