THE world of investment opportunities can be full of tricks, traps and treachery. Some say it requires a combination of knowledge, skill and cunning to navigate.

Naturally, most fall back on endorsements to help them decide where to grow their money.

Recently, an investment scheme on Telegram has been using the name and photos of the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister.

Is this a legitimate investment scheme endorsed by a minister?

    Verdict:

    FALSE

Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday (July 9), said he has lodged a police report on the matter.

“A police report has been lodged regarding an investment scheme on the Telegram application that has used my name and picture.

“The police report was made to deny my involvement with the account and to protect my reputation,” he wrote.

In his post, Nik Nazmi also shared a scan of the police report and a screenshot of the fake investment scheme Telegram group.
