LAST year, the government allocated RM1bil for eligible individuals under the eMadani programme that offered ewallet credit worth RM100.
Recently, a poster has gone viral claiming that registration for the eMadani/Touch‘n Go eWallet 2024 is now opened from Aug 1 – Sept 30, 2024.
It also claimed that successful applicants will receive ewallet credit worth RM1,000. Is there any truth to this?
Verdict:
FALSE
The Finance Ministry, in a Facebook post on its official account, said the poster claiming such financial assistance for 10 million Malaysians under the ministry’s e-cash assistance eMADANI/Touch’n Go eWallet 2024 is fake.
“Be cautious and don’t be easily deceived by such news. Visit the official portal and refer to Finance Ministry’s official social media channels for the latest and verified information. Do not share anything if you are unsure,” it added.
