KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, has called for unity among Sabahans to fuel the state’s development. Speaking at the official launch of the Tuaran Torch Run during the 38th National Chinese Cultural Festival, Hajiji emphasized that political stability and solidarity among the people are crucial for achieving the development goals outlined in the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) roadmap.

The successful revenue collection of RM7 billion last year, surpassing the initial target of RM6 billion, serves as evidence of the government’s progress, Hajiji affirmed. However, he stressed that environmental conditions also play a vital role in supporting development plans.

Addressing the audience, Hajiji stated, “For this to happen, it is crucial that we have political stability. We must discard any form of divisiveness that will only pull us all apart. Let us join hands to realize the four growth pillars aimed at supporting the state’s development agenda of ‘Sabah First, Sabah Forward, Sabah Prosper and Sabah United’. Together, we can achieve it.”

He further pledged to continue attracting investment to Sabah and generating more economic opportunities through partnerships with the state government. The Chief Minister’s speech was delivered by the State Tourism, Culture, and Environment Assistant Minister, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.

Hajiji expressed his gratitude to the Chinese community for their ongoing support and collaboration in various development sectors. He emphasized that the Sabah government has always prioritized the welfare and interests of all communities, including the Chinese community.
