KOTA KINABALU: Folk in Sabah’s interior Kampung Katalirus of Nabawan district can now enjoy a reliable supply of electricity after being equipped with solar power systems.

Kimanis Power Sdn Bhd donated 28 units of solar power systems that will benefit 25 houses, a community hall, a school, and a church on Sept 28.

The programme, under the company’s Illuminating Lives of Sabahans (Menerangi Kehidupan Rakyat Sabah) initiative, aims to empower remote communities in Sabah by facilitating access to sustainable energy solutions.

”It goes with the objective of enhancing their quality of life and promoting environmental sustainability as well,” said chief executive officer of Kimanis Power Sdn Bhd Rozali Khamis, who officiated at the handing over ceremony.

He said this effort will positively impact the lives of 329 villagers in Kampung Katalirus but at the same time, push them to work together to take care of these solar power systems.

“The presence of solar energy is a significant step towards bringing positive change to the lives of these villagers who lack access to electricity.

“With the installation of these solar systems, the villagers of Kampung Katalirus will be able to enjoy the benefits of clean and sustainable energy,” Rozali added.
