PUTRAJAYA: The monthly RM200 Budi Madani cash assistance should be sufficient to off-set the increase in the price of diesel for most Malaysians, says Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

“The RM200 is sufficient to cover 80% of diesel vehicle owners based on consumption patterns from Statistics Department data,” said the Finance Minister II at a press conference here on Sunday (June 9).

He also said that those who feel the amount is insufficient can appeal to the ministry.

He said the Budi Madani cash assistance will be implemented this Monday (June 10) and involve some 30,000 diesel vehicle owners under the first batch of recipients.

As of June 8, more than 30,000 applicants have been approved to receive the aid.
