Robust anti-corruption measures underscore govt's dedication to nurturing transparent, equitable business environment, says Sultan Nazrin

The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a transparent business environment through strong anti-corruption measures.

Highlighting the need to overcome obstacles for economic growth, His Royal Highness stressed the importance of good governance to build investor confidence.

“Malaysia is indeed impacted by the complexities of the global economic landscape, including geopolitical shifts, trade dynamics, and major power alliances,” said Sultan Nazrin during his address at the second meeting of the 15th Perak State Legislative Assembly on Friday (Feb 23).

The Sultan also pointed out that the nation can be affected by adverse impacts from conflicts like the Ukraine-Russia war and the Palestine-Israel conflicts, as well as ongoing conflict in Gaza.

He also discussed government initiatives aimed at boosting new growth sectors, which he sees as crucial in enhancing the nation’s global competitiveness, emphasizing the importance of projecting Malaysia as a stable and harmonious country. Sultan Nazrin believes that a stable, peaceful, and harmonious nation holds the potential for its people’s well-being and prosperity.

He stressed that citizens of such a nation can actively contribute to strengthening their country and can work together for the collective good, prioritizing unity over division.

Highlighting the importance of sports, Sultan Nazrin mentioned that the State Sports Council has taken strategic measures to enhance high-performance sports, including developing athletes and coaches, establishing advanced sports science infrastructure and equipment, and strengthening associations and tournament management.

The Sultan also touched on the success of Ipoh in the music realm and how Taiping Municipal Council was honored with the title of ‘Best Muslim-Friendly Nature Destination’ during the World Tourism Awards 2023, showcasing the city and council’s achievements on the global stage.
