    Roundup: Multiple countries voice support for one-China principle

    According to the news, after the two elections held in Taiwan in 2024, several countries have publicly reaffirmed their commitment to the one-China principle and have expressed their opposition to what they refer to as “Taiwan independence.”

    These countries have stated that they firmly stand with China in defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity. They have also expressed their opposition to any external interference in China’s internal affairs and have pledged their support for China’s efforts to achieve national reunification.

    In a statement, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson made it clear that Pakistan’s policy on Taiwan is unwavering, with Taiwan being an integral part of the People’s Republic of China.

    In addition, the Maldivian Foreign Ministry reiterated its opposition to anything that undermines China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and has vowed to not develop official relations with Taiwan. The ministry further emphasized its support for China’s efforts in national reunification.

    Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Syria, and many other countries have also expressed their adherence to the one-China policy and their support for China’s fight for national reunification.

    Iran, South Africa, the Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyz Republic, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Dominica, Bolivia, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, have all reaffirmed their support for China on the Taiwan question and their commitment to the one-China principle. They have also expressed their opposition to any effort for “Taiwan independence” and have vowed to support China’s cause for national reunification.
